Ambulatory Service
Our veterinarians have long term relationships with a host of breeding and performance horse farms in the area, as well as individual horse owners. The many services provided include primary and preventive health care, reproductive management, lameness evaluation, pre-purchase evaluation, and 24 hour emergency coverage.

Hospital
Our clinic sits on 10 acres on Handcart Road in Zephyrhills, Florida. It houses a reception area, administrative offices, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, treatment area, and main barn. Behind that is our Therio center and stallion barn.

Surgery
We provide elective standing surgeries and noninvasive limb surgery. Some surgeries we perform are castrations, umbilical hernia repair, enucleation(eye removal), cryosurgery, check ligament desmotomy, and hoofwall resection.

Internal Medicine
Daniels & Daniels Equine Services provides critical care and treatment of horses suffering from acute or chronic disease or injury and provides recovery services. Cases treated include a full spectrum of diseases from autoimmune, gastro intestinal, opthalmic, and dermatologic conditions.

Therio Center
The Therio Center is designed to provide specialized services in reproduction. It has a breeding shed, stallion and mare laboratory, and stallion stalls. The success of our clients’ breeding program is a primary focus at Daniels & Daniels Equine Services. Services for mares include uterine biopsy, fertility evaluation and artificial insemination with fresh, cooled or frozen semen. Stallion services include training, fertility examinations, semen analysis and assistance with cooling and shipping semen.

Diagnostic Imaging
1. Digital ultrasound
Hospital and ambulatory practitioners are equipped with ultrasound machines to assist in the diagnosis of various conditions as well as for routine monitoring of reproduction cycles and pregnancy in the broodmare. Ultrasound is a valuable imaging tool for evaluating and diagnosing many different conditions and monitoring the healing process. Ultrasound is used to evaluate pneumonia, abdominal pain, cardiac disease, umbilical infection, anatomical sites with a mass or swelling, pregnancy, as well as joint, tendon, and ligament injuries. A digital ultrasound is used in the clinic and in the field providing state-of-the-art imaging for patients.

2. Digital Radiography
Daniels & Daniels Equine Services can also provide the benefits of digital radiography. The advent of portable digital radiography has allowed us to radiograph areas of the body that were previously impractical to attempt to obtain high quality images in the field. Additionally, we can provide instant results and high quality prepurchase and sale films.

3. Endoscopy
Endoscopy allows the doctors to visualize anatomical structures in the horse and is a key diagnostic tool in the diagnosis of many conditions. A portable fiber optic endoscope is used to examine and evaluate the upper respiratory tract and can be used in the upper gastrointestinal tract, urethra, and bladder, as well as the uterus of the mare.

Laboratory
Having our own in house laboratory provides the availability of comprehensive, reliable test results that is a vital function for the continuous care provided at Daniels & Daniels Equine Services. Our laboratory services include hematology, serum chemistry, bacteriology, cytology, and parasitology.

Pharmacy
Established relationships with our industries representatives keeps our staff up to date with the newest advances in pharmaceuticals. In addition to supplying our clinic and ambulatory service, we also provide clients with medications provided there is a valid veterinarian-client-patient relationship.

Dentistry
We perform routine and advanced dentistry at our clinic and in the field.  Our doctors have a wealth of knowledge and experience in equine dentistry.  While examining your horse, we may recommend advanced dentistry if we feel your horse would benefit from more than a routine float.  Advanced Dentistry is a great resource for horse owners trying to improve performance, comfort, or feed utilization for their horses.

Layup and Weaning
We offer layups for horses needing stall rest and medical attention after surgeries and injuries. At our clinic we also provide a weaning service to our clients. This can be a useful way of separating the mare and foal in a safe environment. We will take the mare or the foal, and we need to time the weanings to have pairs of foals to wean.

 

Chiropractic Methods
Daniels & Daniels Equine Services offers equine and canine chiropractic methods and clinical applications at our clinic as well as in the field.  Skeletal balancing is an alternative and complimentary method for treating many of the health and performance problems of the horse.. Some conditions treated with chiropractic methods are stiffness, poor performance, lameness problems and uneven gaits.

 

Nutrition consulting
We offer equine nutrition consulting by our on staff certified equine nutritionist.  It is difficult for any horse owner to stay on the cutting edge of equine nutrition with all of the new feeds and wide range of supplements available.  From pasture pets to high performance athletes we want to help you better manage your horses, keeping them happy and healthy.  The key to a healthy horse starts with good nutrition and feeding practices.
